Every once in a while someone will poo-poo the idea of “Internet Relationships” not being ‘real’; or that it’s silly to think we can become invested in chat rooms like IRC or MUCKs or MMORPG’s. But these are also the people who quickly forget what “Pen Pals” were. The Internet didn’t change the fact that ‘Pen Palls’ and ‘Play Chess By Mail’ friends still exist, they’ve just got MASSIVELY shorter PING times now!
