Based on the following email submission:
“The Bible contains vast allegory, historic and cultural
situational contexts, and countless language idioms from
the time it was written. Why then, like both Atheists and
Ken Ham do, read it word-for-word literally? Well-educated
theists and denominations read it as it was written to be
read – allegorically, historically accurate in parts, and with
the deeper theological intent first-and-foremost. Therefore,
should one have some formal education – or not – before
cracking open the book and interpreting it?”
So tonight we’ll be discussing the question: Should people who want to read and understand The Bible be formally educated in the text first and why?
