Almost a month ago, Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson were arrested and accused of trespassing in a Philadelphia-area Starbucks. After all was said and done, these gentlemen decided that instead of suing the city and Starbucks that they would settle with the city for $1 each and a pledge of $200,000 program for young area entrepreneurs, while Starbucks closed all its stores for a day to conduct re-training to all its staff to prevent anything like this from happening again.
We’re not going to talk about this event specifically, but the idea that change doesn’t HAVE to come at the end of a stick. Sometimes reason, good will, and education can grind the wheels of progress all on themselves.
